History


The community of Sierra Madre is one of the oldest participants in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, having entered a float since 1917. Today, the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association funds, designs, builds and decorates the community’s annual entry. Carrying on a local tradition, ours is one of only a few all-volunteer-built floats remaining in the parade.

In total, we have won 6 major Tournament of Roses Trophy Awards and 3 consecutive awards in the last 3 years: 2006 Wonder of Reading-Founders, 2007 Our Wonderful Wistaria-Leishman and 2008 Valentine’s Day-Princess.
